It is time for the American public to take strong, constructive actions to support Lisa Miller's efforts to protect her daughter from her former lesbian lover. The courts and other state elements have gone mad with ideological extremism and rejected their duty to protect young Isabella Miller. Where are all the religious leaders on this one?

In Canada it appears the majority support legalized euthanasia. Why? For a number of reasons, the most significant one being that the public does not understand what euthanasia really is, how it will be imposed on vulnerable persons and how it will lead to a huge collapse of traditional respect for human life. Another major reason it that the Christian understanding of the personal redemptive value of suffering has been lost to a collapse of religious faith and a loss of personal courage. Once euthanasia is accepted and legalized, no vulnerable person of any age will be safe, regardless of personal preferences. Is that what Canadians really want?

The hostile response of Archbishop Fisichella to the concerns expressed by some of the most esteemed members of the Pontifical Academy for Life has turned into a serious embarrassment and scandal for the Church. It is hard to comprehend how objective persons could possibly side with the Archbishop regarding the issues raised by the  members, given that the facts are so clear and certain. Urgent resolution is called for.

The Catholic bishop of Victoria, Richard Gagnon, has given a fine example of what a Catholic bishop is called to proclaim about a politician who advocates policies in serious violation of the moral law. With very few exceptions, Canada has had a severe drought of such religious leadership for decades. It no wonder, therefore, that the nation has been declining into a sewer pit of immorality and rejection of God and his gift of life. However, more men like Gagnon can still save the nation, which by the way also has a far below replacement birth rate.
