Lots of news today.
Kathleen Gilbert has compiled two more instructive reports on the Women Deliver conference with more to come. She is providing likely the most comprehensive coverage available anywhere of that major international event from a social conservative perspective. It is important that we relate what went on so that pro-life, pro-family people will be armed with the information needed to counter the deadly agendas coming out of the conference.
Development and Peace again. When will this issue finally be resolved? Just how much more irrefutable evidence must be provided before someone in Canadian Catholic Church authority publicly rebukes D&P for its refusal to acknowledge these problems? It is tiring to have to repeatedly counter deceitful attacks on LSN's coverage of CCODP's funding of inappropriate organizations. Today's LSN report trounces a conspicuously inadequate recent Micheal Swan article about one of the Mexican D&P funded groups.
Pope Benedict talked to the priests of the world about the need for priests and bishops in the Catholic Church to use “the shepherd's rod”, “the rod with which he protects the faith against those who falsify it, against currents which lead the flock astray.” For the sake of life and family and to ensure an end to the seeming constant string of major scandals, this had to be said. Thank you Benedict!
“Fox News North” Coming to Canada? Great! Finally the oppressive uniformity of Canadian news will be challenged with some real diversity. It can't help but be a winner. Many Canadians are no longer happy about being treated as mindless ideology sponges by Canadian news providers who believe only they know what truth is. We are not expecting this proposed new network will be pro-life or pro-family, but hopefully it will give Canadians some long needed, consistent balance in news reporting.
After two weeks we have raised only 25% of our fundraising goal. We need, yes, need, $75,000 more to keep LSN going. Please donate, if at all possible. Donations of any size are welcome. And if you have the means to be a major donor, we could especially use a few larger donations. Really, this work gives an amazing return for dollars spent in affecting the culture for good.
