Bart Stupak has been remarkable in standing up for life despite tremendous persecution for that stand – an admirable, and a wonderful example to all.

Today is one of those days you wish the Bishops of the U.S. would have long ago excommunicated Nancy Pelosi for her 'I'm a good Catholic, but pro-choice' routine.  There has been far more than enough reason to do so – and she keeps piling on more.

Before TV cameras today, on the celebration of St. Joseph, Pelosi made a splash by announcing that she was asking the saint to pray for passage of the pro-abortion healthcare bill. What perversity!

More news on the undermining of the U.S. bishops' campaign against the health care bill by dissident, mostly feminist nuns and other Catholics. But it's nice to see the faithful Catholic nuns of the CMSWR backing up the bishops in their stand against the bill. They are where the future of the Church is.

The other group of religious sisters, which has thrown its weight behind the Democrat's anti-life bill, is largely composed of long dying orders of sisters living off the fat of their orders' past good deeds and fidelity. Most of these orders have understandably not been attracting new vocations for years and, strangely, perhaps because they are financially well endowed, do not seem to care. However, within these orders, there are still some heroic faithful sisters who have resisted the radical agenda bandwagon.

This health care battle has brought much (but not all) of the many years of informal schism within the Church out into the open. At least now the public can see some clear lines of division and respond accordingly

Around the world there is a malicious attack on the Pope using the sex abuse scandals for fodder, however the battle waging within the Church is just as fierce, if not more so.  Just look at all the dissidents Catholics in the U.S., among them various groups of nuns, some publications and even some bishops pushing for passage of abortion-plagued Obamacare over the objections of the majority of Bishops.

Before becoming Pope, Cardinal Ratzinger predicted a purer but much smaller church.  Without the worry of being stabbed in the back from the inside there would be much more energy and focus on attacks from the outside.

On the bright side, 7000 young people rallied for chastity in Guatemala this week.  There is still hope and it lies in our youth.  Christian youth of today are committed to Christ since the relativistic and watered down “progressive” version of Christianity holds little power to hold those searching for truth.

We are at $27,655 total donations given so far towards our fundraising campaign goal of $45,000. That is, $17,345 is still needed by early next week. Can it be done in such a short time? That's up to you dear friends. We hope and pray more will join in.

Have a great weekend,
