Dear readers,

The Catholic Church finds itself at the front of the culture wars in today's news, and all pro-lifers need to assist in these battles regardless of their denomination or religion.

The whole issue of giving Catholic funerals to those who leave the faith in spirit and remain in name only is revisited as a lesbian who claims to have been ordained a 'Catholic' priest was denied a Catholic funeral.

An Illinois Bishop has removed a priest for having 'consensual' homosexual sex, hopefully the policy for dealing seriously with sexual abuse of minors is also put in place for sexual activities such as these.

Boston Cardinal O'Malley and Denver Archbishop Chaput have found themselves on opposing sides over the matter of permitting a child of homosexual couples into Catholic schools.  And Catholic leaders are calling for disciplinary action against the priest-editor of the Jesuit magazine America who slammed the Pope for his stance against homosexual marriage.

These life and family battles will be played out in all faiths and in the public square as well.

PLease remember that when submitting a letter to the editor your full address MUST always accompany the email. We cannot publish letters without this information and are having to become much stricter about the policy.
