Dear Readers,

John Jalsevac’s review of the film “Miss HVI” is a must read. We would strongly recommend purchase of the movie after having reviewed an advance copy which was most impressive. It included gorgeous, professional photography, production and music. A very unique movie. Martin Ssempa, whom we have quoted several times in the past, is so refreshing with his joy, his outrageous honesty, and obvious, great love for the African people, especially those with AIDS. This is a story of inspiring courage, real life experiences, deadly negligence and misguided policies.

From south of the border two more stories on Sarah Palin. What a huge contrast to the Canadian political malaise. Meg Jalsevac, returns for today with a fascinating report on Palin who was in Meg’s home city of Pittsburgh this past Saturday.

And then there is looney England yet again. The government continues to exceed itself with one madness after another, this time by honoring a racist eugenicist and former Adolf Hitler admirer by featuring her on a new stamp.

Good news from Brazil! The home schoolers won. That was not at all a given outcome, so all should be thankful.

In the medical world, some honesty overrides ideology. The Lancet admits that the American Psychological Association was out of order for pronouncing that women do not experience significant psychological effects from abortion. The American Psychological Association went well over the top on that one.

Kudos to Archbishop Chaput for his new book, Render Unto Caesar. It is too bad that a prominent bishop had to write a book expounding much of what should be obvious to any believing Catholic, but then, it was necessary given the times we are in. Kudos also to the bishop of Scranton for giving Joseph Biden due notice – no communion for his obstinate support of abortion.

With the flood of news happening on the life issues it would be opportune at this time for Canadians and Americans near Toronto to register for the International Pro-life Conference taking place in Toronto Oct. 2-4. This is a major event with an impressive international roster of speakers. Registration can now be done on line.  See https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/jul/08072505.html.

It appears that after a few years of several on and off again false starts a Canadian federal election is finally going to be called.  John-Henry Westen, in his editorial on Conservative political strategy,  calls the Tories to task for their most recent abuse of their core social conservative constituency. They may gone one too far this time for the likes of many otherwise Conservative Party supporters.
