Dear readers,

The Eucharistic Congress in Quebec City has afforded many stories but a few can only be properly reported with photos. Hence we’ve produced today a photo essay on the Eucharistic procession through the streets of Quebec City with some 25,000 participating. On Wednesday two more photo reports will follow – one on the spectacular Quebec ordination ceremony of 12 candidates to the priesthood and another on the outdoor closing Mass of the Eucharistic Congress. These events hold great cultural significance for Canada and for Quebec where such events have not been seen in forty years.

Such stories provide a positive, hope-filled antidote to some of the other rather awful stories about the culture of death and hatred of traditional moral and family life. As we have intimated in many past reports and editorials, it appears that only a return to the belief and practice of authentic Christianity will turn the tide of today’s assaults on life and family. No worldly or political strategies seem capable on their own of achieving this. The heart and soul of mankind is sick and spiritual conversion is the only effective treatment for such sickness.

You’ll notice in today’s lineup a story which corrects the mainstream media on the Christian science teacher who ‘burned the arm’ of a student and is being disciplined. There’s an opportunity to let your voice be heard.

You’ll also see reports on Romania, Poland, Ireland, and Australia.
