On Tuesday a week, Nov. 4, one of the most important ever United States elections will take place. Little did we know even a year ago just how historically crucial this election would actually be. It seems as though ten years has passed in one year.
For those who understand the foundational importance of the protection of life and family for any healthy and safe society, the presidential choice has never been clearer. The contrast between the two candidates on abortion is extreme.
Above all, the election requires a great prayer campaign – not so much for one candidate to win over another – but for grace to abound so that both politicians and voters will see clearly and accept what must be done for the true good of all.
Then there are all the other state races and crucial ballot measures, with California’s Proposition 8 being the most significant ballot measure given how that precedent could affect the entire United States.
In Looney England the cultural suicide and advance of secular social mayhem shows no sign of slowing. In today’s case it reveals what we have been warning about for some time – there are scientists and doctors who have understood from the beginning that many, if not most organ donations, have technically required keeping alive and then actually killing the donor. Now that this fact is becoming public knowledge, they are saying so what? Very sick people should be killed so that others may get their body parts and live. Where does it stop? It doesn’t.
Cardinal Rigali has it right on. Abortion is the transcending issue of the day. It is all about what is highest on God’s agenda, rather than our short earthly life materialistic concerns – which don’t mean much at all at the end of our lives.
Sex education for kindergarten children. Communism, fascism, totalitarianism anyone? That’s what it is. No respect for the dignity and rights of the individual and the family. All that matters to these people is to impose their particular ideology. Trouble is, so very few people fight back and the brainwashers therefore are usually getting away with it these days.
Apple and Google: Apple makes its billions selling Apple/Mac iphones, computer equipment and software. Google makes most of its money from advertising on its search engine. Their active opposition to Proposition 8 is undoubtedly going to cause a lot of people to re-consider their business with these two companies given that they are supporting an action against the democratic will of the people on a foundational social issue.
