Dear readers,
At the International Pro-Life Conference over the weekend, the leaders of the pro-life movement in Poland brought with them a traditional Polish knight’s shield which they awarded to Campaign Life Coalition President and International Right to Life Vice-President Jim Hughes who celebrated thirty years of service to the pro-life movement yesterday.
Retired Canadian Liberal politician Pat O’Brien also spoke congratulating Hughes. “I would like to acknowledge the leadership of Jim Hughes in the pro-life movement for many years,” said O’Brien. He noted that while many have left active struggle with few successes, Hughes “remained faithful and continued to work day after day and year after year for the cause of life in this country.” For himself, O’Brien said, “I intend to be one of those people as long as I draw breath and have a chance to do some work.”
To send Jim a note of congratulations email:

We have much to report on the conference, especially regarding statements from International Right to Life leaders who made presentations. Those reports will be forthcoming as we find time to complete them.
The news today is very full, but be sure to see the victory for life that LifeSiteNews.com readers were responsible for. A Canadian Catholic University has rescinded its invitation to pro-abortion pundit Heather Mallick thanks to your letting your voices be heard.
There is much to say, as always about the how the US election impacts life and family, but today we especially focus some comments on the Canadian election.
The election continues to progressively increase the disgust of Canadian voters looking for some courage and higher principles in the major party leaders. Instead they are being confronted with a seeming wasteland of cowardice and utter shallowness as never before. This, especially considering the great crises facing Canada and the world at this time.
“Conservative” leader Stephen Harper has been a disappointment far beyond anything we could have imagined a few years ago. It boggles the mind to try to understand the advantage he thinks he is gaining by repeatedly going out of his way to trash the importance of the annual slaughter of over 100,000 precious unborn children in Canada. Never have we seen any leader go this far or exhibit such profound ignorance of the deadly implications of this continuing state protected and fully funded assault on the sacred right to life.
However, as Campaign Life Coalition stresses, the emphasis should be on voting for individual pro-life candidates, regardless of their leaders. According to CLC there are many candidates who should be supported in both the Liberal and Conservative parties.

It appears that a great deal of earnest prayer is needed more than ever in our lifetimes.
