How many millions were destroyed in the process?

AUCKLAND, June 17, 2002 (LSN.ca) – A celebration in New Zealand for World Infertility Month is hailing the millionth birth of a child through in vitro fertilization and other methods of artificial procreation. The processes are opposed by critics because they are disrespectful of life and frequently involve the destruction of human life. With IVF several embryos are created in the full knowledge that most will not survive the procedure till birth.

The New Zealand Herald reports that the first IVF child was born in the country in 1984 but now 450 children a year are born in New Zealand by IVF.
