OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) MP Michelle Rempel Garner said Canadians have had “enough” of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s “woke” ideology, notably when it comes to his ideologically driven carbon tax.

“This is crazy, they should not be raising taxes in the middle of an inflationary crisis, give your head a shake, this is not a game. That is what each of the members of the Liberal backbench should be showing,” Garner charged during Tuesday’s Question Period in the House of Commons.

“And I’ve had enough, and people in this place have had enough, Mr. Speaker, and people across this country have had enough, so I challenge every Liberal backbencher here today, tomorrow morning is their caucus meeting to stand up and say what that one person said off the record to a reporter. Enough with the woke s****,” added the MP.

Garner, realizing that she had used a swear word, immediately apologized to Speaker of the House Anthony Rota before continuing her attack on Trudeau and his Liberal government.

“Sorry, Mr. Speaker, I take that back, I apologize for my unparliamentary language immediately. I am very sorry. Enough with the woke stuff and get on with the plan. And it’s right to be passionate with this because we have to do better things to protect Canadians from inflation,” she stressed.

After Rota accepted her apology, Garner added, “We’re seeing a mental health crisis, a housing crisis, and what are the Liberals doing? They want to raise taxes.”

Noting that she is aware of instances in which Liberal MPs have, “off-the-record,” admitted their dissatisfaction with Trudeau, Garner urged her fellow MPs to begin to do so publicly.

“Every single member of the Liberal backbench has the ability in their caucus meetings, on their own social media platforms, to push back and hold the government to account just as much as I do.”

Garner’s remarks were part of the House’s larger debate on the nearly four-decade high inflation crisis currently sweeping the nation. The CPC, under its new leader Pierre Poilievre, has consistently blasted Trudeau’s Liberals for never lowering taxes and instead continually increasing the number and size of government handouts

Poilievre’s CPC has also repeatedly taken issue with the Liberal government’s unpopular carbon tax, using it as an example of how Trudeau’s ideological commitment to environmentalism is hurting Canadians financially.

Instead of listening to the opposition, Trudeau’s Liberals have decided to increase the carbon tax by triple over the next few months, on top of raising the amount each Canadian must pay into the government’s mandatory pension program.

Since taking office in 2015, Trudeau has continuously pushed an increasingly radical environmental agenda, borrowing ideas from globalist groups like the United Nations and the World Economic Forum.
