WEST TEXAS, Oct 19 (LSN) – Last week Bishop John W. Yanta published a courageous letter to Catholics in his diocese calling on them to refrain from using any Planned Parenthood service and from associating with the abortion agency in any way including employment. The letter published in the diocesan newspaper, The West Texas Catholic, was to be read at masses throughout the diocese. It reminded the faithful of the Church’s pro-life teachings.  “I will be happy to assist you in finding employment elsewhere so you will not be cooperating in these immoral practices and being a source of scandal both within and outside the church and community,” the bishop wrote. Bishop Yanta outlined his reasoning saying that, “Planned Parenthood is the nation’s leading provider and promoter of abortion, promotes contraceptives to minors without the parents’ knowledge (and)  promotes emergency contraceptives that are used after an act of ‘unprotected’ sex.”
