JACKSON, Miss., April 2, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A pregnant teenager who is being pressured by her parents to have an abortion was able to obtain a temporary restraining order to block her parents’ wishes—because she wants to have the child. A preliminary hearing will be held next week in federal court.  Michael DePrimo, a lawyer with the American Family Association’s Center for Law and Policy, says the 16 year-old was scheduled to have an abortion this week. But she managed to reach DePrimo’s pro-life legal group to intervene. “A mother’s desire to protect her baby is among the strongest in life,” DePrimo observed.  Even pro-abortionists support the girl’s choice. Betty Thompson at the local abortion clinic, which calls itself the “Women’s Health Organization,” said: “If a woman, even a teenager, says she does not want to have an abortion, no parent can make her have an abortion. She is dismissed if she says she does not want one.”  For local coverage:  https://www.wlbt.com/Global/story.asp?S=1210940&nav=2CSfEykH
