TALLAHASSEE, August 25, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Florida Supreme Court has unanimously refused to be drawn into the case of Terry Schindler-Schiavo, 39, the long-term disabled woman whose estranged husband wants to disconnect her from life support.  Michael Schiavo, who has a new partner, says Terry is in a “persistent vegetative state”. Bob and Mary Schindler, Terry’s parents, believe the husband prematurely cut off rehabilitation efforts, and say their daughter can be seen on video attempting to communicate with them.  “The Florida Supreme Court has, in essence, said ‘We will not intervene,”’ said the husband’s lawyer. The terse statement, signed by all seven judges, said “no basis for jurisdiction exists” and rejected any appeal. The family is reported to be “devastated.”  For local coverage:  https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/state/orl-locschiavo23082303aug23,0,3294117.story?coll=orl-news-headlines
