February 2, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) –Notorious talk-radio personality Howard Stern will be spreading his offensive commentary on Canadian airwaves once again, thanks to Sirius Canada.

The satellite radio provider has said it will be airing Stern’s talk radio show as of February 6, 2006.

Howard Stern has been fined more times than any other radio show-host. His material is a toxic combination of sexual, racial and scatological references, often including exploitation of show guests. He is known for conducting graphic and sexually explicit interviews with porn stars, and using disordered sexuality, such as bestiality, as fodder for “humorous” skits.

Stern’s last show was pulled from Canadian programming in 2001, in part because of the complaints of listeners. While the CRTC did not ban Stern’s shows outright, content restrictions made it costly for stations to continue broadcasting his programs.Â

Sirius Canada is a partnership between the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Standard Broadcasting and Sirius Satellite Radio. Sirius Satellite Radio was licensed by the CRTC, Canada’s independent regulating agency for broadcasting and telecommunications content, in June 2005 to provide satellite radio service to Canada.

The CRTC can require content restrictions on satellite radio, and has the power to withdraw licensing.
