VANCOUVER, June 12 (LifeSiteNews.com) – LifeSite has learned that the BC and Yukon provincial Catholic Women’s League (CWL) annual convention voted with a nearly 80% majority to disassociate from the World March of Women 2000. Moreover the Toronto archdiocesan CWL voted 68% against the March at their annual convention.

In related news, the Western Catholic Reporter (WCR), which has formerly written articles in support of the World March, has come out today with an editorial against the march.  The editorial, “Time to Exit World March,” compares the Catholic support of the march to the discontinued Catholic support for United Way when Planned Parenthood was accepted as a member.  The editorial notes that the case for abandoning the World March is in fact stronger than that of the United Way.
