STRASBOURG, July 10, 2002 (LSN.ca) – In an interview with the Italian paper Avvenire, Dana Rosemary Scallon, the pro-life singer turned Member of the European Parliament, warned that the European Parliament is set to go beyond its push for legal abortion throughout Europe which was recently passed in a narrow 280-240 vote.
A translation of the article by Zenit News quotes Scallon saying: “There is certainly an attempt to include the right to kill among human rights, whether it be of conceived children or sick elderly people. And, through a certain view of sexual education, which provides for the availability of contraceptives for children and adolescents, without parental consent, the state is trying to come between children and parents, to destroy the family.”
Scallon warns that in the Fall, more European Parliament resolutions pushing radical agendas will be pursued. “There are other reports and resolutions that are coming up, which refer to the funding of abortion services in developing countries and the evolution of the concept of the family. Autumn will be hot.”
Scallon will be participating in a World Youth Alliance forum at World Youth Day in Toronto. See the full interview from Zenit at: https://zenit.org/english/visualizza.phtml?sid=22999
