EDMONTON, Alberta (LifeSiteNews) – On her first day on the job, Alberta’s new premier vowed that she will forge ahead and amend the province’s human rights code so that discriminating against a person because of his or her vaccine status would be illegal.

While speaking to reporters last week after being sworn in as provincial premier, Danielle Smith said (1:00:47 mark) that “If I need to make the point that this discrimination is unadaptable, the best way to do it is by changing the Human Rights Act.”

Smith had promised while campaigning to become the new leader of the United Conservative Party (UCP) that she would make it illegal for anyone to be fired because of their vaccine status.

“Thousands of Albertans lost their jobs because they wouldn’t agree to be vaccinated. Tens of thousands were pressured to take the vaccine on threat of losing their job. This was a human rights violation,” Smith tweeted.

Smith said that, with “federal booster mandates looming,” there will be many companies who will be “pressured into implementing mandates this fall.”

“That’s why as Premier our government will amend the Alberta Human Rights Act to prohibit employers from firing employees based on their vaccination status,” Smith wrote.

Last week, Smith officially took over from Jason Kenney as leader of both the UCP and the province of Alberta.

She won on a pro-freedom platform but supports abortion.

Smith vowed, unlike her predecessor Kenney, that she was not going to “create a segregated society on the basis of a medical choice.”

On her first day on the job, she said what no other provincial, or federal leader has said before: that the “unvaccinated” have been the “most discriminated against” group of people in the province.

Smith was immediately blasted by the mainstream media and the NDP opposition in Alberta as a bigot for standing up for the vaccine-free.

She later offered a clarification of her words but did not apologize for standing up for those who rejected the COVID jabs.

Thousands of Albertans either lost their job or were placed on leave without pay for choosing to not get the COVID shots.

Many have been fighting back against the imposition of workplace jab mandates, such as vaccine-free Calgary Firefighters, as well as a 176-strong group of WestJet workers.

Smith may  take action more quickly to ensure that the rights of Albertans who don’t get jabbed are protected by the law after recent comments from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Yesterday, Trudeau told Canadians that there might have to be “other” health measures enacted should people not get COVID and flu shots.

Autopsy data shows a close association between the COVID mRNA jabs and heart inflammation, more so than between heart issues and COVID virus itself.

Also, according to two recent medical studies from Europe, blood damage explains the many harmful impacts of COVID shots.

Kenney-linked Twitter account posts message blasting Smith’s defence of the un-jabbed

After Smith defended the vaccine free and then later clarified her remarks after the media frenzy, a Twitter account linked to former Premier Kenney tweeted, then deleted, a disparaging message against her.

“An apology isn’t an apology without the words ‘I’m sorry’,” said the tweet from the @UniteAlberta account.

“Those words tend to be especially important when the apology is necessitated by a profound level of ignorance that many would consider disqualifying.”

The @UniteAlberta account since 2017 has sent out messages from Kenney regularly.

Kenney  rather bizarrely tweeted on his own Twitter account just shortly after Smith won the leadership of the UCP that there would be an “orderly transition” to a Smith government.

During her first press conference as Premier last Tuesday, Smith noted that Kenney had not gotten in touch her and would not speak with her.

In July 2021, then-Premier Kenney said that he was “opposed” to an Alberta vaccine passport and would not be bringing one to his province.

However, in September 2021, Kenney imposed a vaccine passport on Albertans, despite the growing evidence that lockdowns and restrictions had resulted in more lives lost than saved.

In January, the Alberta government was forced to admit that it had overstated COVID hospitalizations attributed to the Omicron variant by 60 percent.
