ATLANTA, May 22, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Democrat presidential hopeful U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has shockingly declared that laws banning or limiting abortions are “against Christian faith.”

The New York senator said measures to increase protections for the unborn, now making their way through or passed in many state legislatures — popularly known as “Heartbeat Bills” — are “horrifying.”

“If you are a person of the Christian faith, one of the tenants of our faith is free will. One of the tenants of our democracy is that we have a separation of church and state, and under no circumstances are we supposed to be imposing our faith on other people. And I think this is an example of that effort,” said Gillibrand.

“Already this year, Mississippi, Ohio, Kentucky have all passed six-week abortion bills,” lamented Gillibrand, “with similar bills introduced in 10 other states. These are just some of the over 250 bills across the majority of state legislatures to restrict abortion access just this year.”

Gillibrand, who holds 100 percent pro-abortion ratings with Planned Parenthood and NARAL, said that if elected president she would make sure every woman in America has guaranteed access to abortion.
