(LifeSiteNews) – The multi-trillion dollar, Democrat-driven, 1,684-page “Build Back Better Act” creates numerous provisions for funding abortion in defiance of state laws and Hyde Amendment protections.

According to a joint press release issued by Republican Sens. Steve Daines of Montana and James Lankford of Oklahoma, one radical way the proposed bill will expand abortion is to mandate abortion funding for populations currently not covered by Medicaid in the 12 states that have declined to undertake the expansion of Medicaid allowed by Obamacare. The new bill will provide those gap populations with taxpayer subsidies for abortion through  Obamacare’s exchange plans in 2024 and 2025 in violation of the individual states’ laws and norms prohibiting the use of Affordable Care Act funds for abortion.

“This is an egregious attack on life and the American taxpayer,” Daines said. “Protecting taxpayer dollars from funding abortions has not been a controversial issue for decades and it should not be one now. This is unacceptable.”

“Americans are overwhelmingly opposed to spending their hard-earned tax dollars on funding abortions,” he continued. “The Democrats’ big government, reckless tax and spending bill strips Hyde Amendment protections and expands abortion subsidies.”

“Build Back Better” is the slogan of the “Great Reset,” a radical socialist plan designed by globalist elites, gathering at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland once a year, which “seeks to ‘push the reset button’ on the global economy.”

The Great Reset‘s “Build Back Better” phrase was one of Joe Biden’s campaign slogans and was featured prominently on his branding during his “transition” to president while the 2020 election was still contested. Leftist, pro-lockdown leaders around the world frequently use the expression.

Buried within the bill are numerous other provisions for allocating billions of taxpayer dollars to fund or support abortions. This includes a $30 billion subsidy over three years for cost-sharing and reinsurance coverage for individual market health plans without any restrictions on funding abortion or plans that cover abortion. The act also massively expands taxpayer abortion coverage via greater Obamacare premium tax credits through 2025, effectively giving millions of people taxpayer-funded plans that cover abortion for as little as $1 a month.

Finally, the bill provides more than $18 billion in myriad health-related grants that would allow the unrestricted use of these funds for abortion while circumventing Hyde Amendment protections.

These massive, taxpayer-funded grants support a wide spectrum of health-related initiatives, which frequently use vague or veiled language that can be construed to include coverage for abortion services or abortion infrastructure. Examples include $50 million to support the doula workforce, to include “abortion doulas,” to $85 million for education and training for “addressing health risks associated with climate change for pregnant … individuals,” to $170 million for the nursing workforce in maternal and perinatal health, the latter of which can include abortion.

According to Lankford, “Democrats are once again helping the most pro-abortion President ever force American taxpayers to pay for abortions in their reckless tax-and-spend spree. It is clear Democrats are obsessed with abortion. They seem to look for every opportunity in every bill to find new ways to increase the number of abortions in America.”

“We must stand against this continued assault on the lives of unborn babies and not allow health-related grants or new Medicaid and Affordable Care Act expansions to take the lives of even more Americans in the womb and violate the conscience rights of millions of Americans who are morally opposed to abortion.”

“I continue to support the Hyde Amendment and all other life protections,” Lankford concluded. “In the days ahead, the national conversation around abortion will continue both in Congress and at the Supreme Court. It is the fundamental responsibility of government to protect the lives of every person from conception to natural death. I will continue to work in the Senate to protect life and call upon my colleagues to ensure no federal money is ever used to fund the taking of a child’s life.”
