SEATTLE, October 18, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Adding its company to a roster of massive corporations that includes the likes of Starbucks, Amazon.com, and Home Depot, Nordstrom has supported the redefinition of marriage in an internal e-mail to the department store chain’s employees

“We just continued to hear from more and more employees that they wanted us to stand up and support it,” Nordstrom spokeswoman Brooke White said.

The company previously supported the homosexual agenda by adopting benefits for “life partners” as far back as 1998, and adding sexual orientation to its anti-discrimination policy only a few years prior in 1995.

Nordstrom is allowing the Washington State pro-Referendum 74 website, which seeks to redefine the term “marriage” to include members of the same sex, to post its internal e-mail. “It is our belief that our gay and lesbian employees are entitled to the same rights and protections marriage provides under the law as our other employees,” it stated.

The recent agenda of redefining marriage goes beyond the scope of company policy, so with this new and unprecedented move, the company is dipping its proverbial toe into the political sphere.

Nordstrom, however, has not yet donated to the Referendum 74 campaign.

In addition to Washington, marriage is an issue on the ballot this November in Maryland, Maine, and Minnesota.
