(LifeSiteNews) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is urging voters to “put on the full armor of God” in the fight against the policies of the left during upcoming midterm elections.
DeSantis encouraged a crowd of supporters to “com[e] out in full force” to vote this November to send a message to Joe Biden “that we are fighting back against his destructive policies,” and that “Florida will be the vanguard of freedom in this country,” during a speech in Hialeah on Tuesday evening.
“We are fighting for the soul of this country,” said DeSantis, reminding his supporters what is at stake in the gubernatorial election against his rival, now-Democrat Charlie Crist.
He warned against leftist policies undermining law and order that are being implemented all across the country, with the help of George Soros-backed prosecutors. “They’re letting criminals back on the street, refusing to even prosecute people for violating the law,” noted DeSantis.
Florida’s governor emphasized the importance of maintaining “education” instead of “indoctrination,” including “teaching our kids about our Constitution” and “about the fact that our rights come from God, not from the government.”
“We are not gonna let this state be overrun by woke ideology. We will fight the woke in the businesses, we will fight the woke in government agencies, we will fight the woke in our schools, we will never ever surrender to the woke agenda. Florida is the state where woke goes to die,” DeSantis said, to enthusiastic applause.
DeSantis warned against complacency in the upcoming election, since he and his policies are “not just running against a political party or candidate,” but “against national corporate media,” who, he cautioned, will “do whatever they can to derail Florida’s progress.”
“It’s not gonna be easy, but you know what? This state is worth fighting for. Our country is worth fighting for. So put on the full armor of God, and take a stand against the left’s schemes. Stand firm for truth,” he declared.
The renowned governor echoed his recent statement released by his reelection campaign, shared by the New York Post.
“Freedom is on the line this November — and our bold agenda for parental rights in education, safe communities, a vibrant economy, and a protected environment is vital to keeping the state of Florida free,” DeSantis stated.
1.6 million Walmart employees will soon be pressured into supporting and seeking abortions thanks to Walmart’s new initiative pouring financial incentives into abortion-specific travel.
According to CNBC, Walmart employees “and their family members who are insured through Walmart” will have abortion travel costs covered “if they cannot access a legal abortion within 100 miles of their location.”
This is horrifying news, because this means that low-income workers will have virtually no excuse to refuse Walmart’s new abortion-related accommodations.
Walmart expands abortion coverage for its employees in the wake of Roe v Wade decision https://t.co/dtheFTcf07— CNBC (@CNBC) August 19, 2022
Notice that Walmart is also making abortion virtually inescapable, funding abortion-travel when it's not accessible within a 100-mile radius. As a result, every female employee will be forced to at least consider seeking an abortion.
Walmart's expanding abortion coverage also includes any instance "when there is a health risk to the mother, rape or incest, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage or lack of fetal viability.” This seems limited, but it’s actually an expansion of abortion coverage that is the beginning of a very dangerous slippery slope.
This is because the same CNBC report notes that Walmart “previously offered more limited abortion coverage.”
Expansions are continuing in stages, with Walmart targeting their most vulnerable employees who find themselves in life’s darkest, most difficult moments.

There is no private company who currently employs more Americans in the nation than Walmart, and whose abortion coverage will impact more people.
But this means that the American voice is represented in every Walmart store, proving that now is our chance to make that voice heard.
Will you help our fellow Americans raise their voice against pro-abortion Walmart, and push back againast Walmart's war on the pro-life movement?
We cannot miss this moment. With Roe v. Wade officially struck down, it’s now up to us to change the pro-life culture at the state level — but also at the private level.
We cannot have a pro-life culture if private companies are still actively funding abortion!
Stand with America’s employees who are fighting for life at America’s biggest employer: “We the consumers are demanding accountability from you. Stop Walmart's abortion expansion now.”
“Our state is worth fighting for, and I am calling on all Floridians to put on the full armor of God as we will fight tooth and nail to protect Florida from the destructive agenda of Joe Biden and his number one ally in Florida, Charlie Crist,” he added.
Under DeSantis’ leadership, Florida has been hailed around the world, particularly since the onset of the COVID-19, for being one of the freest places in the globe, as many other locales have buckled under harsh COVID restrictions.
DeSantis has also been widely praised for the strong and prolific measures he has taken against woke, leftist policies, such as protecting young children from LGBTQ grooming and indoctrination; protecting students and employees alike from critical race theory, which many have charged with being a racist ideology; removing a Soros-backed attorney who refused to enforce the state’s abortion ban; preventing woke social justice standards from dictating Florida pension investments; and protecting conservatives against speech discrimination from Big Tech.
DeSantis’ gubernatorial opponent Charlie Crist, who himself served as Florida’s governor from 2007 to 2011, switched parties to run as a Democrat after his term in office. Crist is being supported by California governor Gavin Newsom, who has been increasingly disparaged over the past few years for what critics say are policies contributing to an exodus of California residents.
