CLAERWATER, FL, March 23, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The family of disabled woman Terri Schiavo who battled their daughter’s estranged husband Michael Schiavo to stop him from ordering her death through withdrawal of her nutrition and hydration have had to once again launch a court battle to aid their daughter.

Last month Terri’s parents Bob and Mary Schindler learned that Terri had experienced a bout of vomiting.  Upon learning of her condition, the parents asked nursing staff and Hospice staff working at Park Place Assisted Living Facility in Clearwater, Florida what had caused their daughter’s illness and what was being done to treat her. The Schindlers were told by the staff that they could not divulge any information by orders of Michael Schiavo.  Consequently the parents filed a motion in the Sixth Judicial Circuit asking that the court hold Michael Schiavo in Contempt of Court for disobeying a 1996 court mandate that orders him to divulge changes in his wife’s medical condition to her parents.  The hearing in the case is scheduled for March 26.  The original 1996 court order can be found on: www.zimp.org/documents/1996%20Court%20Order.pdf
