WINNIPEG, May 25 (Lifesitenews.com) – Less than a year after having to fight in court to remove a do-not resuscitate (DNR) order from her husband’s hospital chart, Helene Sawatzky was informed that her husband Andrew is healthy enough to return home. Doctors at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg put the order on Andrew’s chart without consulting his family and they refused to remove it when the family protested. The courts ordered a temporary removal of the DNR order by the hospital until the case could be reviewed.

While in court hospital doctors offered grim prospects for Mr. Sawatzky’s future health.  Medical reports submitted in court on behalf of the family gave a much better prognosis.  Family lawyer Richard Beamish said, “The proof is in the pudding; he’s now improving all the time.”
