SYDNEY, Australia, Oct 27 (LSN) – Dr. Philip Nitschke, an Australian pro-euthanasia activist announced his development of a new suicide device last week. Nitschke offered his latest killing apparatus, after the example of John Hofsess, a Canadian promoter of euthanasia whose is notorious for offering specialized plastic bags as suicide devices. Nitschke’s device uses a gas mask with a plastic bag attached, and a filter to absorb carbon dioxide.
Before it was overturned by Australia’s federal parliament the Northern Territoy’s permissive assisted-suicide law was used to justify four killings using Nitschke’s ‘‘death machine’‘, which delivers fatal injections after users tap out keyboard instructions.
