LONDON, Oct 2 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Pro-lifers made a last ditch effort to offer refuge to the joined Siamese twins Jodie and Mary offering to support the twins and the parents at Zoe’s Place, a unique hospital dedicated to looking after children with life-threatening illnesses. Meanwhile the UK Society for the Protection of Unborn Children reports today that the doctor of the twins is refusing to separate the twins despite the court’s ruling in favour of the separation and the parents’ decision not to appeal the decision further. The surgeon suggests that the separation would likely kill both children and thus is ill-advised.
Jack Scarisbrick, spokesman for the LIFE charity told the Catholic News Service Zoe’s Place “has a Catholic chapel within the building, with the sacraments available. It would be a safe haven. We will look after them all until the twins die.” “We acknowledge that this is a terrible situation—but to kill Mary in the hope that Jodie will survive is wrong. You may not do a wrong action to achieve something good. This is an important principle of the moral law,” he said.
