DOCTOR SPELLS OUT ABORTIVE NATURE OF “EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION”

ABBOTSFORD, BC, June 23 (LSN) – Writing in yesterday’s release of the journal Medical Post, Dr. H. Robert C. Pankratz of Abbotsford notes that “patients need (the) right info about morning after pill: it’s abortion.” Dr. Pankratz cites a 1994 review article in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology explaining that “the predominant effect of the morning after pill is in the disturbance of the normal development and function of the endometrium” which disrupts implantation of the embryo.

The doctor says, “although inhibition of ovulation may occur, this would be only if the morning after pill is administered at or immediately prior to the LH surge (perhaps accounting for 25% of the mechanism of action).” Dr. Pankratz calls for conscience legislation both in Canada and the US allowing pharmacists and other health care professionals to refuse to participate in this early abortion. He also suggests that these drugs should “at bare minimum” be clearly labeled to reduce “inappropriate, repeated and dangerous misuse.”
