SANTIAGO, Chile, June 28 ( – Penn State’s Population Research Institute is making use of a 1968 Disney film of Donald Duck promoting contraception. Zenit news reported today that the video is being sold in Chile within a package of other pro-contraception videos but Disney lawyers allege that the Population institute is selling the video illegally.

In a related story, on Friday L’Osservatore Romano, the official newspaper of the Vatican,  slammed campaigns to combat AIDS with the use of condoms. Writing in the paper, Bishop Elio Sgreccia said that the 10-15 per cent failure rate of the devices combined with the resulting tendency to increase risky behaviour would likely result in an increase in the spread of the deadly disease. The bishop suggested education to avoid extra-marital sex and drug use.
