HARRISBURG, May 2, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania claim to have found that embryonic stem cells from mice can transform into ova. The report in the journal Science suggests that the test-tube-created ova seem to function normally. Scientists are suggesting that the process would also work in humans.

Ova were produced using stem cells from both male and female embryos. Commentators have speculated that if successful in humans, this technology would allow for homosexual couples to have their own biological children.
