April 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Antonio Tajani, the President of European Parliament, tweeted his support for Alfie Evans and “his extraordinary parents” this morning.
“The power of love is defeating the cynicism of those who have pulled the plug,” he wrote, promising that Alfie and his family have his full support.
After a lengthy court battle and the refusal of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to let Kate James and Thomas Evans, the toddler’s parents, continue their son’s care elsewhere, the hospital removed Alfie’s ventilation yesterday.
But Alfie breathed on his own for 13 hours and is still alive. The hospital eventually permitted Alfie water and some oxygen. A newly-released photo shows Alfie sleeping “heart to heart” on top of his mother.
