ROME, Dec 21, 2000 (LSN.ca) – Evangelical leader James Dobson, famous for his Focus on the Family organization radio broadcasts listened to by millions, praised pope John Paul II early this month. This took place at a meeting in Rome with the pope which Dobson attended along with Chuck Colson, another evangelical leader. The Catholic News Service quoted Dobson as saying that although he has theological differences with the Catholic church: “when it comes to the family, there is far more agreement than disagreement, and with regard to moral issues from abortion to premarital sex, safe-sex ideology and homosexuality, I find more in common with Catholics than with some of my evangelical brothers and sisters.”
