NEW YORK, July 2, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A two year study released by the Center for the Advancement of Women admitted that fifty-one percent of women support abortion only in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the women, or not at all. The report, coming from an organization led by radical feminist icon Faye Wattleton, signals an important admission from a mainstream feminist movement that has long trumpeted the importance of such supposed rights. Faye Wattleton served as President of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America from 1978 to 1992 and was awarded the organization’s Margaret Sanger award in 1992 in recognition for her abortion rights crusade. The study, entitled “Progress & Perils: New Agenda for Women,” places abortion rights as a distant runner up to such priorities as equal pay, child care, women’s healthcare, and a reduction in domestic violence and sexual assault. The ability to take time off to care for family (74%) is listed as of much greater importance to women than keeping abortion legal (41%).
