OTTAWA, Ontario, May 13, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – That Canadian mainstream media has repeatedly ignored or downplayed the largest gathering on Parliament Hill for the last 16 years in a row is the running joke of the country’s pro-life movement. But this year’s National March for Life was deemed an event too big to miss by one American television network.

The Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) teamed up with Dunn Media from Hamilton, Ontario to provide five hours of live coverage on the day of the march. EWTN released yesterday a 7 minute video of highlights. The video covers the Candlelight Vigil the day before, as well as events on the day of the march itself.

“Today, the news media cannot ignore you. And one day soon, the government will not be able to ignore you,” said Carl A. Anderson, Supreme Knight from the Knights of Columbus, during his speech from the steps of Parliament Hill.

The video captures the record-smashing pro-life crowd of 25,000 that swamped Parliament Hill to demand justice for the unborn. Organizer of the event Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) estimated the number to be a 25 percent increase from the previous year.

CLC estimated that young people made up approximately 80 percent of the crowd. Jim Hughes, National President of Campaign Life Coalition, told the youth during his speech from the Hill: “You are not the future of the pro-life movement. You are the present.”
