OTTAWA, June 14, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A vote in the House of Commons last night will see Parliament sit till midnight every night in order to finish Parliamentary business prior to the summer recess. Although the Liberal government claims to be concerned about passage ofÂits budget, several Parliamentary sources on both sides of the House informed LifeSiteNews.com that the extension of hours is also in place to assure passage of the gay ‘marriage’ bill prior to the summer recess.

The vote to extend hours passed 146-120. Only one Liberal MP in favour of traditional marriage, Tom Wappel, absented himself from the vote.Â

Beginning at 10pm tonight Parliament will vote on several budget measures, which would be considered votes of confidence. Therefore should the Conservatives and Bloc team up with the help of some pro-family Liberals the government could be brought down thus avoiding the now nearly certainÂpassage of the gay ‘marriage’ legislation.
