(LifeSiteNews) — A former Facebook employee who said she has uncovered wrongdoing at the Big Tech company will reportedly meet with the House of Representatives’ January 6 committee.
Frances Haugen has released thousands of pages of documents that show Facebook “knew that the Instagram platform was harmful to its younger users, allegations Facebook did not do enough to stop the spread of false coronavirus-related rhetoric and claims the platform was not doing enough to combat drug and human trafficking being conducted on the site,” according to The Hill.
“According to this Facebook whistleblower, shutting down the civic integrity team and turning off election misinformation tools contributed to the Jan 6 insurrection,” Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff tweeted Monday. “The Select Committee will need to hear from her, and get internal info from Facebook to flesh out their role.”

Media outlets reported Haugen could have already met with the committee as of Thursday, though there is no indication of this yet.
The January 6 committee has been set up to investigate what occurred on that day. “Jan. 6 was one of the darkest days in our nation’s history … it is imperative that we establish the truth of that day and ensure that an attack of that kind cannot happen and that we root out the causes of it all,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in her announcement of the investigation.
Republicans saw the committee as duplicative and a form of partisanship.
“Given the political misdirections that have marred this process, given the now duplicative and potentially counterproductive nature of this effort, and given the Speaker’s shortsighted scope that does not examine interrelated forms of political violence in America [committed by left-wing groups Antifa and Black Lives Matter], I cannot support this legislation,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said at the time.
There are currently 15 other separate Congressional committees who are looking into the events leading up to that day.
Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe is standing for governor of Virginia and, like Joe Biden, he likes to say he is a "very strong Catholic."
Yet, also like Biden, he strongly supports killing unborn babies and is a longtime defender of the abortion industry. As if to underscore that fact, McAuliffe has even ghoulishly campaigned at an abortion center in his latest run for office.
Please SIGN and SHARE this petition which tells Terry McAuliffe to reject killing the innocent, stop supporting the abortion industry, and return to the Catholic Faith! This petition will also be CC'ed to the Virginia Catholic Bishops' Conference.
In spite of the fact that McAuliffe was born and raised in a Catholic family and graduated from a Catholic high school and university, he has supported the murder of the unborn throughout his life in elected office.
Indeed, McAuliffe has been taken to task several times by different dioceses. Going back to 2004, McAuliffe was disinvited as a guest speaker at his high school alma mater in Syracuse, New York, because of comments he made during a radio interview, saying that abortion is a matter of choice.
Fast-forward to 2017, when then-Governor McAuliffe (of Virginia) was excoriated by the Virginia Bishops' Conference for vetoing a bill to defund Planned Parenthood.
At the time, the Bishops' Conference stated that McAuliffe's "actions harm the dignity of women deceived by the multibillion-dollar abortion industry as well as the tiniest females, those still in the womb whose lives are brutally eliminated by abortion."
Nevertheless, McAuliffe apparently still sees nothing wrong with his support of killing unborn babies, and, as above, he recently toured an abortion mill for a morbidly opportunistic campaign photo-op. (See tweet below.)
Grateful for the opportunity to tour the Whole Woman’s Health facility in Charlottesville this afternoon with @SallyLHudson. I'll always fight to protect women's clinics as gov. No Youngkin Texas-style abortion ban in VA! pic.twitter.com/EmgDvK3AVY

Stepping foot inside a place where babies are actually killed, and then campaigning to keep such murderous facilities open, takes support for abortion to a heinous new low.
And, supporting abortion as a public official is even worse for McAuliffe in terms of his relationship with God and the Catholic Church.
While supporting abortion is always wrong, Catholic politicians who vocally support abortion have an even greater responsibility to renounce their wayward positions precisely because of the scandal it can cause to the Catholic faithful, very possibly leading many others astray.
Relying on the Catechism lessons he received throughout his high school and university education, Terry McAuliffe should now reconsider his position on the killing of unborn children, and take this opportunity to publicly repent of his support for abortion, the killing of the innocent.
If McAuliffe does not take steps to publicly repent of his adamant support of abortion, the bishops of Virginia should take this opportunity to address and clarify his relationship with the Eucharist and the Church.
Terry McAulliffe and all Virginians deserve to know about his standing in the Catholic Church, especially if his relationship with the Church is something he likes to speak about publicly.
Thank you for SIGNING this important petition, which will be CC'ed to the Viriginia Bishops' Conference, and which implores Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe to reject his support for abortion and the abortion industry.
After you have signed, please consider SHARING this vital petition with your like-minded friends, family, neighbors and colleagues.
Thank you!

Only 15 % of the people charged that day have pleaded guilty, according to George Washington University’s “Capitol Hill Siege” tracker, which maintains all the court documents relating to the criminal charges. Most of the guilty pleas so far are for misdemeanors.
Brandon Straka pleaded guilty to “disorderly conduct,” for example. A 52-year-old Indiana woman faces community service and probation after pleading guilty to “to a misdemeanor charge of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building,” 13 WTHR reported.
Parading is the misdemeanor charge commonly used for people like the abortion activists who interrupted recent Supreme Court nomination hearings.
Whistleblower or political pawn?
While labeled a “whistleblower” by much of the media, many conservatives have suggested that Haugen is being used by liberal politicians to push for greater restrictions on conservative and libertarian speech on Facebook.
Haugen, for example, believes there should be a federal government agency that oversees social media companies, as well as what is often called disinformation or hate speech.
“[T]here needs to be a regulatory home where someone like me could do a tour of duty after working at a place like [Facebook], and have a place to work on things like regulation,” Haugen told the U.S. Senate during her hearing.
One news outlet conducted an analysis using Federal Election Commission data on Haugen’s donation’s and found she is a reliable supporter of liberal politicians.
“Haugen has a record of donations to far-left Democrats and a history of raising issues about purported bias while at previous employers,” the Daily Wire reported. “She is working with Democrat operatives to roll out her complaint and has the same lawyers as the anonymous Ukraine ‘whistleblower’ whose allegations led to Donald Trump’s impeachment, but who reportedly turned out to be then-Vice President Joe Biden’s top advisor on the country.”
“Haugen has made more than twenty federal campaign contributions since 2016, all of which have gone to Democrats, according to Federal Election Commission data,” the Daily Wire reported.
