(LifeSiteNews) — Dr. Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Adviser to President Biden, told Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC that you “use lockdowns to get people vaccinated” during an interview on Wednesday.

Fauci and the TV host discussed the COVID situation in the U.S. and globally, and near the end of the chat they arrived at a discussion of the situation in China, where Shanghai is undergoing a brutal lockdown.

Some Shanghai residents have been confined for more than 40 days. The city has reportedly issued a notice informing residents that the city will be locked down until May 1 at the earliest. The situation is dire for many, as the lockdown is so strict that some residents cannot leave to buy groceries and must wait for them to be delivered.

Regarding the situation in China, Fauci stated that, thanks to the initial lockdowns in China in 2020 – “early on… they were doing better than almost anybody else.”

“But lockdown has its consequences,” he said.

“You use lockdowns to get people vaccinated, so that when you open up, you won’t have a surge of infections,” he continued.

“Because you’re dealing with with an immunologically naïve population to the virus because they’ve not really been exposed because of the lockdown.”

Fauci did not discuss natural immunity which has been proven to be longer lasting and more robust than any immunity offered by the available jabs. Meanwhile, he thinks China’s problem is that “the vaccines they’ve been using are not nearly as effective as the vaccines used in the United States, UK, EU and other places. So, they don’t have the degree of protection that’s optimal.”

The major vaccines offered in Western nations, such as Pfizer and Moderna have been shown to wear off significantly within a matter of months, offering little to no protection.
