MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Jan 12 (LifeSiteNews.com)  Researchers at MIT are working on a new method they say will allow the creation of human beings without the use of males. Rudolf Janesich, who heads the research team explained that the objective is to copy the chromosomes of a woman’s ovum and fuse the original and the copy to make a complete genetic compliment. This process is supposed to generate a new creature, completely independent of male sperm.

A recent Sunday Times (London) report on the research indicated that the first rat born of only a mother is anticipated to take place two years from now. Zenit news reports that “the ‘experiment’ is supported by some feminist groups, especially those of lesbians, who regard this study as a contribution to feminine autonomy.”
