LONDON, England, August 28, 2002 (LSN.ca) – British in vitro fertilization (IVF) clinics are brow-beating fertile couples to participate in fertility procedures when “all they need is time to conceive naturally,” the BBC reports.  The charge comes from Britain’s regulatory body, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. Its head, Suzi Leather, said some of the pressure is created by “patients”. “There is an assumption,” she says, “that as soon as you stop using contraception you are going to fall pregnant [sic], and actually it is quite normal for it to take quite a long time.”  To read BBC coverage see:  https://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2220685.stm
