VICTORIA, Feb 19, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Bishop Raymond Roussin – who recently took over the Victoria diocese from Bishop Remi De Roo – has celebrated Victoria’s first pro-life Mass. The Mass held in St. Andrew’s Cathedral was attended by some 450 people who heard the bishop say that it “may seem like a hopeless task at times, with efforts to promote respect for life falling on ears that are deaf to ‘the divine dimension of life,’ but we must not despair. We must follow Christ’s example of serenity.”

The diocesan newspaper, the BC Catholic, reports that the service was organized by a Respect Life Mass Committee led by Ann Richards of Campaign Life Coalition.
