NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana, August 18, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – The pro-life community in Louisiana has been affected by the recent historic flooding along with the rest of the area and the state pro-life organization put out a call on Tuesday to help pregnancy resource centers (PRC), their staffs and clients touched by the natural disaster.
“They're Flooded. Help!” stated the message from Louisiana Right to Life Federation (LARTL). “Can you help flooded, impacted PRCs?”
The deadly flooding that has killed at least 11 people and which the Red Cross has deemed “the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy” has also claimed at least two pregnancy resource centers, according to the LARTL statement.
Caring to Love Ministries, located on N. Flannery Road in Baton Rouge, and Family Resource Clinic, 12201 Florida Blvd., between Walker and Livingston, have both been flooded, and LARTL asked supporters to consider donating to help the centers rebuild.
“Our hearts go out to all those across Louisiana, and in our own LARTL family, suffering from the floodwaters,” LARTL Executive Director Benjamin Clapper said. “We pray for a quick recovery of your lives. The floods damaged the pro-life cause as well.”
Nine other pregnancy centers in the affected areas have not experienced flood damage. However, the floods have impacted members of their staffs and the families they serve, with LARTL calling for support for them as well.
The centers in affected areas are Restoration House in Hammond; Women’s Life Ministries in Amite; the following PRCs in Baton Rouge: Pregnancy Problem Center, Woman’s New Life Center, Women’s Help Center, Catholic Community Services and St. Elizabeth Foundation; as well as A Pregnancy Center and The DesOrmeaux Foundation, both in Lafayette.
In addition, the Woman's New Life Center in Metairie, located at 3032 Ridgelake Drive, #101, and its Baton Rouge location at 760 Colonial Drive, are accepting baby items to help flood victims.

A number of Christian and pro-life groups have begun plans to travel to the area to distribute supplies, including Elijah Ministries making a trip this week, and Samaritan’s Purse, which is calling for volunteers and donations for its Louisiana flood relief effort.
