Florida’s outspoken pro-life sheriff, John McDougall, has found a way to evade his governor’s ruling against car license plates that convey the simple message, “Choose Life.” According to The Washington Post, he has spent $240 of his own money to get the message printed on 125 plates that can be mounted on a car’s front bumper. He is selling them at $5 apiece to raise money for pro-life groups.  The plate also includes a picture of what The Post calls “an unborn” at six weeks, and the caption: “It’s not political, it’s a child of God.” The latter statement is in response to the rationale given by Gov.  Lawton Chiles for nixing the pro-life license plates. He protested that the message was political, and claimed to be concerned that it would be a precedent for other groups to request to have political messages printed on their license plates.  CORRECTION:  Yesterday’s lead headline, “Arrested Toronto anti-abortionists have violent history,” was incorrect.  It should have read “Arrested Toronto pro-abortionists have violent history”, as indicated in the story. All eleven people arrested were pro-abortion.  All pro-lifers demonstrating were entirely peaceful and law-  abiding.
