Fmr. McCain donor may lead Planned Parenthood branch
PORTLAND, OR, November 13, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) - A woman who donated more than $50,000 to John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2008 is in the running to become the next CEO of Planned Parenthood in Oregon.
Judith Peppler is under consideration to lead Planned Parenthood of Columbia-Willamette.
In 2008 as head of Qwest Communications, she bundled somewhere between $50,000 and $100,000 for John McCain. McCain would launch an unsuccessful attempt to water down the Republican Party’s pro-life plank.
After the 2012 election, national Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards made a pitch for Republican support. After last Tuesday’s elections, a number of Republicans have attempted to purge pro-lifers from the party.
Some of Peppler’s political history may give the organization pause. She went on to donate to Greg Walden, the lone Republican in Oregon’s Congressional delegation, who voted to restrict partial birth abortion and curtail federal funding of abortion at home. But he approved of funding abortions abroad, earning a 30 percent voting record from NARAL.

In the most recent election cycle she supported pro-abortion Democratic Congressman Kurt Schrader and the Act Blue super PAC.
Peppler’s corporate pedigree will make her a strong contender. She retired after CenturyLink bought out Qwest.
She attended the Broad Superintendents Academy, then served in Wake County, North Carolina schools for a year. She resigned in September, just days after the board fired her boss and Broad School alumnus Anthony Tata.
She had just been denied the opportunity to become superintendent of schools in Nevada’s Washoe County, the home of Las Vegas.
Planned Parenthood may prove more lucrative work. The local branch’s former CEO, David Greenberg, made $196,000 a year.
The branch is expected to select a new CEO this week.
The organization’s headquarters is located on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Portland.
