WISCONSIN, Apr 9 (LSN) – The Family Policy Network alerted pro-family activists yesterday to the plight of football star Reggie White, defensive end for the Green Bay Packers. According to the Network, anti-family groups led by a group calling itself the Human Rights Campaign are “waging an all-out campaign to defame the football star,” and are lobbying various companies to drop Mr.  White as a celebrity spokesman.  Mr White outraged “gay rights” groups when he appeared at the Wisconsin state legislature to lead opening prayer on March 26. A member of a racial minority, White told the lawmakers that homosexuality is a sin, and he said “discrimination” gays and lesbians claim to have suffered should not be compared to historical oppression of black Americans. “Homosexuality is a decision,  it’s not a race,” Mr White said. He stressed that the United States has gotten away from God, in part by allowing homosexuality to “run rampant.”  Standing firm amidst the firestorm of criticism he has received since, Mr. White said, “I must stress that I in no way intended for my comments to personally hurt anyone, and for that, I apologize. But I do not apologize for standing on God’s Word when it comes to sin in my life and others. My attitude is to hate the sin and love the sinner.”
