July 20, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — They are the abortion industry’s worst nightmare. They are feared and despised because they, more than anyone else, know what really happens on the inside of an abortion clinic. All of them were once abortion clinic workers and all of them left after experiencing a change of heart.  And now, all of them have gripping stories to tell about what they actually did at their former jobs.

And the stories that they’ve recently revealed in a new book titled The Walls are Talking — published by Ignatius Press — has enough evidence to sink the entire abortion industry forever.

LifeSiteNews caught up with the book’s lead author, former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson, to ask her what she hoped to accomplish by spearheading this project.

“Society is long overdue to hear what is really taking place inside the abortion industry,” she said.

“We have been given a false narrative by our secular media that tells us that the abortion industry is ‘safe, sanitary and provides high-quality health care for women.’ The only way to effectively combat that myth is by revealing the true stories and the real horror that is taking place behind those clinic walls. This book helps detail that truth and is an important read, no matter what side of the aisle you fall on regarding the abortion debate.”

The book’s title is a spin on HBO’s 1996 “If These Walls Could Talk,” a show that promised viewers an honest look into the issue of abortion but amounted to what pro-lifers called a propaganda piece that presented abortion as the only sensible answer to unwanted pregnancies.

Now, 20 years later, Johnson decided that the time had come to reveal what abortion does to men, women, and babies through the stories of the people who once were the industry’s biggest defenders and advocates.

Johnson said the stories destroy the industry’s biggest talking points.

“I hope that people's eyes will be opened to the reality of what's taking place inside the abortion industry. All we hear are scripted talking points from the abortion movement. It's time to move past the talking points and move into honest conversation about the reality of abortion,” she told LifeSiteNews.

There are a total of 17 stories in the 155 page book.

One is about the “hush money” that was used to buy a patient’s silence after a botched abortion. Another exposes the lie behind the abortion industry’s slogan “trust women,” revealing that it is the industry itself that is scared about giving women accurate information. Another story reveals the sick gallows humour that takes place in abortion clinic, for instance calling the freezer where aborted babies were stored until disposal the “nursery.”

Johnson said that each story was selected to reveal the “real horrors inside the abortion industry.”

“While the stories are difficult to read, they are necessary. It is necessary for pro-lifers to know what is truly happening inside these facilities. And it is also necessary for abortion supporters to read and know exactly what they are supporting.”

“No one will be able to read this book and then say they ‘didn't know,’ she said.
