BETHESDA, Maryland, January 17, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A new pro-life documentary hosted by Governor Mike Huckabee includes the testimony of a former abortionist who says she sold abortions to women simply in pursuit of money.

Carol Everett, spurred by the anguish caused by her own abortion, began her own abortion business in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the 1980s before a chance encounter with a pastor showed her the way out.

“I wanted to be a millionaire,” says Everett on the trailer to The Gift of Life. “And the way for me to be a millionaire was to do 40,000 abortions a year.”

Everett’s story is one of several on the new documentary, hosted by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, which also explores the testimony of several individuals who were nearly the victims of an abortion, but were spared.

The film will premier at the Students for Life of America Conference in Bethesda, Maryland, Jan 22, the day before the March for Life.

“I look forward to meeting the 2,000 students who will be attending this important conference and sharing the inspirational pro-life film ‘The Gift of Life’ with them on the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade,” said Governor Mike Huckabee.

The largest student pro-life conference in the world, the SFLA event at the North Bethesda Marriott will offer students a full day packed with appearances by prominent pro-life leaders, including Huckabee, plus opportunities for education, training, and networking with fellow students.

The event, like previous years, has already sold out with 2,000 youth signed up. However, those who wish to attend online can follow the event at SFLAlive.org. https://www.sflalive.org/

Organizers hope to promote an even more forward-thinking mentality this year: Kristan Hawkins, Executive Director of Students for Life of America, said that the 2012 National Conference will be the first to focus on the ramifications of “a post-Roe v. Wade nation.”

“If we are ever going to end legal abortion in America, we need to start talking about it, envision what it will look like, and make our plans for victory now,” said Hawkins on the SFLA Conference website. “The 2012 Students for Life of America National Conference will start this historic conversation so we will see the end of the legal abortion in our lifetimes.”
