TORONTO, October 15, 2001 ( – In an exclusive interview with the Interim newspaper (LifeSite’s parent publication) former Prime Minister John Turner would not accept any blame for bringing abortion to Canada but insisted that the blame belonged to his predecessor, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. The September issue of Interim carries the front-page interview with Turner during which he said, “You have to blame Trudeau for that.”

Interim co-editor Paul Tuns, who interviewed Turner for the story, told LifeSite that Turner was very candid and permitted the remark about blaming Trudeau saying, “I have nothing to lose from the Liberal party now.”

A follow-up on the Turner interview will appear in the November issue of Interim.
