The following statement was posted by Free the Children as a reply to LifeSiteNews’ July 5th article ‘Kielburgers’ Free the Children caught promoting abortion for Third World’, available here.

Free The Children seeks to correct an incorrect perception created by this article in LifeSiteNews.com written by Patrick Craine. Free The Children does not promote abortion.  To be clear, Free The Children, the organization and its Board of Directors, has chosen to not become involved in the debate regarding abortion.

Free The Children’s international projects, carried out through our holistic development model, Adopt a Village, works with communities to help break the cycle of poverty and create sustainable change.  The Adopt a Village model is based on four pillars: clean water, health care, education and alternative income projects. As part of our health care pillar, we provide a number of resources to help build stronger communities, including mobile health clinics, basic medical supplies, training for health care workers as well as health care and awareness workshops.

Further, all of the medical facilities funded by Free The Children provides only basic health care, and not invasive procedures. For additional information, please visit: https://www.freethechildren.com/whatwedo/international/

All of these facts were clearly communicated to Patrick Craine and, unfortunately, the article uses abridged texts and selected edits in order to create an inaccurate perception for readers.
