OTTAWA, April 16, 2002 (LSN.ca) Homosexual activst MP Svend Robinson demanded this week that Alliance MP Cheryl Gallant apologize for comments she made during a heated exchange in parliament. Robinson charged that Gallant had outraged the ‘gay’ community by saying “Ask your boyfriend” to Liberal Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham. Graham is a darling of homosexual activists and reported to have had homosexual affairs despite being married with children.

Gallant apologized in the House today after being told to do so by Alliance leader Stephen Harper. Robinson threatened to demand an apology in the House if Gallant did not offer one. However, Robinson himself has refused to apologize even after being asked publicly to do so by other MPs.

In 2000, Robinson received a torrent of criticism from his colleagues after he sought to evict pro-life priest Fr. Van Hee from his post at Parliament Hill. After being outraged at a sign that was part of Fr. Van Hee’s display, Robinson threatened the priest with expulsion if he did not remove the sign. When the priest did not comply Robinson grabbed the sign from the elderly priest and threw it over a wall. Then-Independent MP John Nunziata and Liberal MP Dan McTeague demanded that Robinson apologize to the priest but Robinson refused outright. McTeague called Robinson a bully, adding, “I guess freedom of speech, a right given by Parliament, is a one-way street for Mr. Robinson.”
