TORONTO, Nov 4 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An official Scout group in Toronto has been set for “gay and lesbian” youth. The Associated Press reports that the group is a Rovers troop open to people aged 18-26. Andy McLaughlin, a spokesman for Scouts Canada noted that the gay and lesbian group is so far the only one of this nature in Canada.

The Canadian Scouts response to this issue is in stark contrast to its US counterpart.

LifeSite reported on October 27 that the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), honouring its founding principles, asked the Supreme Court yesterday to sanction its stand against letting avowed homosexuals be Scout leaders. The group is appealing its Aug. 4 loss in the New Jersey Supreme Court, ruling against the Scouts’ ban on practicing homosexual leaders and members.
