NORWOOD, Ohio (LifeSiteNews) — Retired U.S. General Michael Flynn urged Ohioans to pray but to also get active in their communities in order to defend parental rights and save unborn children from being slaughtered in their mother’s wombs.
“Local action has a national impact,” he said. “Every single American has to stand up, step up and speak up.”
Flynn appeared along with Bishop Joseph Strickland, Jim Caviezel, Abby Johnson and other pro-life Catholic leaders, at the “Save Ohio’s Children” rosary rally at Dorl Field in Norwood Sunday, just 10 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.
Flynn currently serves as a senior adviser for the Arizona-based Catholics for Catholics, which co-hosted the rally with Joe Condit and The Catholic Speakers Organization.

On Sunday, Flynn stated that America is “at the edge of a cliff,” and that she is “living in Psalm 23.”
“That I walk through the valley of the Shadow death I will fear no evil because thou art with me,” he remarked, quoting the verse. “And we are in that valley.”
Flynn added that there are “two lights out of that valley … one light is that temptation that many politicians get … money, power, more money, more power.” The other way out of the valley is prayer, “the most powerful weapon system known to man.”

The rally sought to encourage attendees to pray for the passage of and to urge other people to vote “yes” on Issue One on Tuesday, August 8. If approved, Issue One would change current Ohio law from requiring a 50 percent plus one popular vote to needing a 60 percent supermajority to approve a proposed state amendment. GOP U.S. Senator JD Vance has endorsed the measure.
The proposal is seen as a counter-offensive in response to pro-abortion groups in the state that successfully gathered enough signatures to place an amendment drafted by the left-wing ACLU on the ballot this November. The amendment would enshrine abortion as a “right” for all Ohioans. A recent poll found 58 percent of voters would support the amendment. Logan Church, national political director of CatholicVote, has called the amendment, which would effectively allow for unlimited abortions, “extreme.”

During his biblically-inspired remarks, Flynn, who is Irish Catholic, informed attendees that they are up against not just flesh and blood but demonic forces.
“There are spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical components of what it is that we’re facing,” he warned. “Evil exists.”
Flynn blamed apathy and laziness for how the United States has embraced wokeism and drag queen story hours over and against the Founders, who, first and foremost, he said, supported “life.”
“Where did we lose our common sense? Why do we allow Critical Race Theory?” he asked. “[Black Lives Matter] has nothing to do with color and everything to do with a political ideology called Marxism.”
Flynn ended his remarks by calling on Ohioans to amend their lives and to not give up hope.
“If we just use good God-given common sense, we’ll figure out how to repurpose our lives … we’ll be a much better country. And it’s going to require sacrifice.”
