Germany, Oct 14 (LSN) – The new left-leaning German government is wasting no time in launching an attack on the nation’s families by revoking the rights and responsibilities of parents. According to an Associate Press report today, “a measure to outlaw spanking and slapping children, even as a disciplinary measure,  is to be discussed as part of the coalition talks between the victorious Social Democrats and their future government partner, the Greens.” This development follows on the heals of a recent European Court ruling that Britain’s corporal punishment law is illegal.  Germany’s new designated family minister, Christine Bergmann, was quoted in the Cologne Express as saying that “the right of children to be reared without violence must be anchored in the law books.’’ Social Democratic, Edith Niehuis, (identified as a “family expert” though her credentials were not provided) said they want to send a message that “a whack on the behind should no longer be allowed as a parental tool.”
